ABOUT US

GroundCo Civil Procurement Specialists is a New Zealand owned and operated business founded by a couple of friends who have been in the civil construction, and building industry for 30 plus years, working on the ground and also supplying products.

A gap was identified in the market for truly innovative products. This was the catalyst for the creation of Ground Co. whilst travelling to various trade shows prior to COVID-19, products were sourced and innovative products were procured.

Based in Tauranga, we strive on putting people first and keeping direct lines of communication open.

The StormCell is a smart engineered system designed for stormwater detention, to reduce weight and preload or to effectively fill a void.

THE PRODUCT

The StormCell system offers flexible design whilst being light weight and high load bearing. The system has minimal componentry for rapid assembly on-site and offers a high void ratio enabling the best utilisation of space on your site.

Vehicular options are available for creating trafficible areas, and modules are stackable which ensure economical transportation and on-site storage.

GEOTEXTILE

GEOTEXTILE

GeotechBanner1Lg_edited.jpg

Geosynthetic Textiles have been used in civil engineering since the 1970s. One of the earliest applications was in the construction of highways where simple geotextile separators were placed between the sub-base and sub-grade to maintain the integrity of the stone layer.

The ability of a geotextile to allow the passage of water, yet still prevent intermixing of stone and soil has meant these separators are being used every day around the globe. At one end of the scale, it could be a remote unpaved haul road, or at the other, a major highway connecting international business centres.

APPLICATION

Typical uses for GroundCo standard Geotextiles include ground stabilisation (between the sub-base and sub-grade) and around drainage materials. GroundCo Textiles are used extensively in;

- G13 Construction

- Paved and unpaved roads

- Railways

- Carparks and hardstanding’s

- Cycleways and footpaths

- SUDs Installation

FEATURES

Engineered to provide high strength and high elongation at break to ensure excellent resistance to damage during construction.

GroundCo standard geotextiles are manufactured to performance properties, not weight, sufficient fibre will be added to achieve these properties. Manufactured from high tenacity UV stabilised virgin polypropylene fibres which have been heavily drawn to ensure excellent long term durability in all soil types.

Manufactured using a randomly orientated web to completely isotropic properties, ensuring that high strength is not limited to a single direction. Excellent uniformity with high permeability and low pore size for soil filtration.

Supplied to a maximum width of 4.5m, ensuring minimum waste over large construction areas.

SITE DAMAGE RESISTANCE

GroundCo Textiles prevent intermixing of sub-base and sub-grade layers. This intermixing causes loss in bearing strength, and as the stone layer becomes progressively contaminated, resulting in failure in the form of deformation. This can be remedied if it’s an unpaved area/road by filling the ruts, but even this can be uneconomical or unacceptable if stone has to be imported over long distances at a later date.
